Specialist AI governance and assurance

Aicatch helps organisations govern AI responsibly, build auditable ISO/IEC 42001:2023 management systems, and provide credible evidence to customers, boards, investors and regulators - with independent assurance that what you say about your AI is true.

Who leads Aicatch

Michael Jones, Founder

A software engineer and systems specialist who turns complex standards and high-consequence operations into working, auditable management systems that people actually use.

Michael's career began in enterprise IT as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and software developer, building applications in C++, Visual Basic and Java. Over the years he moved from software delivery into governance, assurance and commissioning - applying the same engineering discipline to AI and management systems. He has delivered across the public sector, rail and mining, giving him first-hand understanding of regulated, safety-critical and high-consequence environments where evidence, traceability and independence matter.

  • Background: MCSE and software development (C++, Visual Basic, Java), moved into AI governance and assurance.
  • Sectors: public sector, rail and mining - regulated, safety-critical and high-consequence environments.
  • Focus: ISO/IEC 42001 AI management systems, AI claims assurance and auditable governance.
  • Delivery model: senior-led, with specialist technical and legal partners engaged as required.

The problems we solve

Four reasons clients call us

  • They use AI but cannot demonstrate who approved it, what data it uses, how risks are controlled or how performance is monitored.
  • Enterprise customers increasingly ask for proof of responsible AI governance during procurement and due diligence.
  • They want ISO/IEC 42001 certification but need practical implementation support before approaching an accredited body.
  • Their marketing and investor statements contain AI claims that may be exaggerated, vague or unsupported - creating regulatory, litigation and reputational risk.

Our promise

We turn informal or uncontrolled AI use into a documented, owned and auditable management system, then prepare the client for an independent certification audit.

Market opportunity

Why demand is accelerating now

Demand is driven by enterprise procurement, customer trust, AI regulation, board accountability, data-protection expectations and the need to control rapid employee adoption of generative AI. The EU AI Act applies in phases: some obligations already apply, while others take effect on different dates depending on the system, role and provision. Organisations should confirm the current requirements applicable to their own activities.
